Malawi Network Of Older Persons’ Organizations has been selected by the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the African Union (ECOSOCC).
This is an advisory and consultative organ of the African Union established in 2004 in accordance with the provision of Articles 5 and 22 of the AU Consultative Act. MANEPO will represent Malawi for the next four years. Swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 11 December, 2024 in Nairobi.
According to a statement that has been signed by Head of AU-ECOSOCC Secretariat, William Carew, as a member-elect, Executive Director for Manepo Andrew Kavala is expected to attend the 2nd ordinary Session of the 4th Permanent General Assembly (4-PGA) to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 11 to 13 December 2024.
