Malawi joined the world in commemorating the International of Older Persons, which is celebrated on 1 October.
The theme for this year was dubbed ‘Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World, Heightening Resilience of Older Women’
Speaking of the event, the executive director for Malawi Network of Older Persons'Organizations said, the day is very significant considering loads of inspiring older adults who are always curious and exploring ways how to sharpen the new generation into achieving their goals.
The main focus is on older women because they suffer more violence than men, hence the need to assist these women.
